Bill Gates is known for a lot of things from his ability to keep track of employees by their license plates to his recent investments in green energy. What would you expect then when the man takes to Reddit for an ama (ask me anything) thread? It would seem that someone had an idea and decided to ask about a new Age Of Empires.
The original question was asked by le-click and read:
Mr. Gates, can we please have another Age of Empires? Not sure if this is your department, but I figured I’d ask since you were here…
Thanks!
A simple question for a man who doesn’t really have that big a part in the everyday running of Microsoft. To people’s surprise, the question was answered by the man himself:
I will look into this. How many empires do you need?
While people on the internet are going crazy over the prospect that this could potentially mean a new Age of Empires game, possibly even taking the game back to its hay day of Age of Empires 2 (a series so good people are still playing it and using it as a baseline for strategy games), they may need to hold off on the enthusiasm.
When ThatNintendoFan commented saying about making it the top question on Reddit, Bill Gates reply was clear:
I think you did – sorry I can’t deliver an Empire (or an Age) easily.
So there you have it, we might have had another Age of Empires but Bill Gates decided to troll with our feelings. Now if you don’t mind me I feel like I need to start up the game and take my anger out on several AI opponents.
