BIOSTAR A68N-5200 Motherboard Review

Audio Performance

The motherboard’s audio solution is based on the Realtek ALC662 codec and is surprisingly capable. Throughout the testing process, the performance was good and I didn’t detect any major weaknesses. As you can see by the summary below, the noise level, dynamic range and THD % are decent across various bit-rates. In particular, the stereo crosstalk, dB is superb and I wasn’t anticipating such a strong set of results.

16 Bit, 44KHz (DVD Quality)

16 Bit, 96KHz (Studio Quality)

24 Bit, 96KHz (Studio Quality)

DPC Audio Latency Analyser

In terms of audio latency, the motherboard does quite well and obtained a maximum figure within an acceptable range.
