UPDATE: Given the feedback regarding the power consumption testing, I’ve decided to briefly discuss the motherboard’s power draw without a discrete graphics card. The original testing was performed as all motherboard reviews are conducted with a graphics card because the majority of users will be deploying one. However, I acknowledge this is an embedded solution and the power consumption without a graphics card is relevant. During idle states, the motherboard consumes a mere 22.7 watts. When running the stress test, the power draw increases to 42.2 watts.
In idle conditions, the motherboard hardly consumes any power and is rather efficient. Under load, the power draw increases considerably and the wattage tends to change at a blistering pace. As a result, you’re likely to see consistent spikes around the 290-watt mark.
