BIOSTAR Intros Racing B650EGTQ Micro-ATX Motherboard

BIOSTAR are the latest to unveil a new AM5 motherboard this week, with the introduction of the Racing B650EGTQ. Taking advantage of the new AMD Socket AM5 motherboard design, this new board is actually based on the AMD B650E chipset, and comes in my favourite form factor, Micro-ATX.
It appears this board is a more premium take on the more affordable B650E chipset, as it looks pretty well equipped. It features PCIe Gen 5.0 for the PCIe x16 slot, as well as two M.2 NVMe slots, meaning you can get the best of next-gen storage and add-in cards. However, it also offers up four DDR5 slots, and a PCIe 4.0 x16, and one M.2 Gen 4.0 slot too.

The board uses a 24-pin ATX as well as an 8+4 pin EPS configuration, giving it plenty of power to run a 14-phase VRM design, which features 90A DrMOS power stages. Plus, as you can see, the board looks well armoured, with larger heatsinks around the CPU, on the M.2 mounts, and the PCB in general, so performance should be pretty fantastic.
Overall, it does look like a pretty solid motherboard, and it’s great to see a B-series board with both PCIe and NVMe slots wired for PCIe 5.0 hardware, as there are so few out there that do. Plus, with the addition of 2.5 GbE LAN via the Realtek 8125B controller, and WiFi 6E, it should be pretty swift for networking too. Finally, it also comes with the Realtek ALC1220 CODEC for audio.
