BIOSTAR has announced its new J3160MD motherboard featuring one of Intel’s Braswell Refresh SoC processors. We’re talking about the Celeron J3160 quad-core processor that comes with a regular clock speed of 1.6Ghz and a relatively impressive Turbo clock speed of up to 2.24Ghz. Even though SoC-based systems aren’t usually known for their performance, the J3160MD has a good chance to become an exception to this rule, especially since it also incorporates DDR3L-1600 DIMM modules with a maximum capacity of 16GB per slot. Furthermore, the Celeron J3160 includes the latest generation Intel HD graphics, which provides support for 4K UltraHD content while ensuring an overall smooth multimedia experience.
As far as output is concerned, the BIOSTAR J3160MD features both VGA and DVI display ports while a series of USB3.0 ports ensure up to 5Gbps bandwidth. Other highlights include a RealTek LAN controller, a pair of SATA3 connectors, one PCI-E x16 2.0 slot and two PCI slots. The motherboard comes in a micro ATX form factor, which means that it measures in at 22.6cm x 18.8cm. Below you will find a complete list of specifications for the compact yet powerful BIOSTAR J3160MD.
