Building a new PC might seem like a daunting task for someone who’s not exactly familiar with the process, but companies such as BIOSTAR are trying to make things a lot easier by releasing motherboards with on-board microprocessors. The Mini-ITX N3150NH motherboard by BIOSTAR comes with an on-board Intel N3150 1.6GHz Quad-core processor that does not even require a fan for cooling. The processor can reach a decent frequency of 2.08 GHz thanks to Intel’s Boost technology, while its integrated Intel HD Graphics GPU can reach a peak of 640 MHz, which is more than enough for light gaming and casual multimedia applications. The board supports up to 8GB of DDR3L-1600 memory or 16GB DDR3L-1066.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the N3150NH features a Realtek RTL8111H – 10/100/1000 controller for LAN networking, while a pair of USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 3.0 header, and 4 USB 2.0 ports ensure quick and easy file transfer options. If you’re planning to use your PC in places where humidity is an issue, you can do so without having to worry about the motherboard’s health, as it was created using a “Moistureproof” PCB design. Other important BIOSTAR technologies are also included, such as BIOS Online Update, BIOS Flasher, BIO-Remote2 and Charger Booster, which speeds up USB charging times for Android and Apple gadgets. In order to improve the board’s reliability even more, BIOSTAR equipped it with Electrostatic Discharge protection.
The N3150NH comes with an MSRP of just $69, and it looks like a great choice for those who are looking for a cheap yet durable motherboard/processor bundle.
