BIOSTAR RACING H170GT3 (LGA1151) Motherboard Review

Storage Performance

Linear Read

The motherboard’s M.2 linear speed is phenomenal and continues the trend of exceptional performance from BIOSTAR products in this field. While it’s not the top result, the read rate is much better than the majority of alternatives and consistently reached highs of 830MB/s. Furthermore, SATA performance was extremely impressive and one of the best we’ve encountered.

Linear Write

On the other hand, M.2 linear write numbers aren’t great and towards the lower end spectrum. Thankfully, it’s not a million miles away from a mid-tier position and fairly close to other H170 motherboards.
