A Closer Look

In the box, you’ll find the motherboard (obviously), as well as something pretty interesting. The motherboard comes bundled with a 120mm RGB LED fan! Of course, you’ll also find your usual SATA cables, and a few other fittings, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The fan is pretty cool, really nice quality and promises to throw out plenty of light. However, does anyone need one mismatched fan? I doubt it, but it’s a fun addition regardless.

Design

This is one of the nicest motherboards from Biostar I’ve seen so far. It’s nothing too crazy, but it has all the right things in all the right places. The racing flag design is cool, although it’s subjective on how many people will want it.

The CPU socket looks promising, back up with two banks of good quality chokes and some robust VRM cooling. Overall, I can’t see this motherboard having any issues with overclocking or good power delivery.

It comes with the stock AMD cooler mounts installed. Of course, you can remove that for aftermarket coolers easily enough.

There are four DDR4 DIMM slots, with support for up to 64GB. More importantly to me, there are built-in controls for power and reset too. However, the onboard controls for Eco and Sport mode are awesome, allowing quick and easy configuration of the motherboards performance.

Storage options are off to a good start, with M.2 support and a built-in heatsink ensuring great performance and longevity for your drive.

While six SATA ports and two USB 3.0 headers take care of peripheral storage solutions.

There are three full-size PCIe slots, which don’t come with armour, which is a shame at this price range. However, that’s not a deal breaker, and there’s good support here for multi-GPU configurations.

RGB

The rear I/O comes with a built-in shroud. It certainly keeps the design looking tidy, but also delivers RGB lighting that syncs with the lights on the VRM coolers, audio shroud, and the chipset cover.

Rear I/O

With three display outputs and plenty of USB ports, you can’t ask for much more here. I would have liked to see a built-in cover at the back, but it’s not a big deal.
