Advanced Micro Devices launches its highly anticipated FM2+ “Godavari” APU class today, and one of the first manufacturers to announce support for the new APU is BIOSTAR. The Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturer has prepared a new series of products for AMD’s most recent chipset, namely the BIOSTAR Hi-Fi A88W 3D, Hi-Fi A70U3P and Hi-Fi A68U3P. Those of you who are worried about backwards compatibility will be glad to know that these motherboards also feature support for the previous generation FM2+ / FM2 APUs.
All Godavari APUs were designed for AMD’s socket FM2+ and come with an improved GPU and CPU architecture. As part of the Kaveri-Refresh platform, Godavari products represent newer, better versions of the current Kaveri APUs. They boast the 7000 series brand and are based on the Graphics Core Next architecture and x86 Steamroller core.
Apart from the new support, the main highlights of the BIOSTAR Hi-Fi A88W 3D, Hi-Fi A70U3P and Hi-Fi A68U3P motherboards include USB 3.0 ports, SATA 6Gb/s, onboard LAN and PCI Express 3.0 x16. Will you make the switch the AMD’s new APU anytime soon, and if so, will you choose one of these BIOSTAR motherboards?
