Intel’s 8th generation Coffee Lake CPUs are official and you will need a new Z370 chipset motherboard to use them. Thankfully, these Z370 motherboards will be available soon starting October 5. Two of these are from Biostar, the latest additions to their Racing series mainboards. Aside from the new chipset and CPU support, these motherboards are sporting a much different look than the Z270 Biostar Racing line.
Ditching the carbon fiber look, the new Racing series uses more gold accents on black. Think of it like a road marker. Also, the gold a certain sense of ‘bling’ to the design. These boards also feature RGB LED support controllable via the VIVID DJ LED software. There are also dual RGB LED headers for adding more LED accessories.
It is not all about looks however since these new Racing series boards also feature some upgraded features. Biostar provides heat shields for the M.2 devices. The PCIe x16 slots also get reinforcement so it can withstand heavier devices.
The UEFI is also getting a facelift, providing a more intuitive layout. Users will also now be able to have more fan control options via the new A.I. Fan feature. This feature auto-detects 3-pin or 4-pin fans, calibrates it then creates profiles for use. Users can also set their own custom fan speed profiles depending on their setup.
The two motherboards shown above include the Z370GT7 and Z370GT6. They both use an Intel i219V for the Gigabit LAN and a Realtek ALC1220 HD audio codec.
All Z370 chipset motherboards launch on October 5th. However, Biostar did not provide any pricing information yet at this time.
