Biostar unveils TPower X79 board

Sandy Bridge-E is just 12 days away now according to the speculated release date of 14th of November. We have seen boards from ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, ECS, Foxconn, ASRock and now BIOSTAR joins the party. Their TPower board, which was the branding used on the X58 platform, makes a comeback for the X79 chipset. The board comes with only 1 set of quad channel memory support or four DIMM slots supporting massive speeds of up to 2400MHz. Internal connectivity is impressive with seven SATA ports (six are 6.0 Gbps, the single red one is 3.0 Gbps), three PCI-Express x16 slots enabling SLI or CrossFireX setups, six USB 3.0 ports (plus two via a header). Rear connectivity includes Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, and an eSATA connector.

Good news for enthusiast is that the board comes with the very useful LED debug indicators, reset/clear CMOS buttons and a totally passive silent VRM/chipset cooling solution. The board should be available within a 2 weeks and should rival many other boards on the market with hopefully a lower price tag.
