BioWare announcing the dates for Star Wars: The Old Republic Beta Test Weekend

Star Wars: The Old Republic has been given a date for its Beta Test Weekend, which will not happen until after Thanksgiving.

The senior community manager for the upcoming MMOG Stephen Raid said via Twitter that the game’s Beta Test Weekend will begin on Friday November 25 and end on Monday November 28. For those who have already signed up for testing before November 11 will receive an invitation next week.

This will be BioWare’s largest Beta Test Weekend to date, and is mainly aimed at testing the game’s server in preparation for the launch.

For those of you who have yet to sign up shouldn’t wait any longer, you can go and check the partner sites here and get your spot while you still can.

“Keep your eyes on these sites for your chance to get a Beta Test Weekend Code, as well as how to redeem the code and get into the Beta Test Weekend,” BioWare said.

Tom’s Hardware UK has some information from the inside thanks to an unnamed source, who states that while being extremely polished for a beta, the client-side software still needs some optimization as the launch is rather slow. The source also states some unknown issues on the graphics, although it is rather unclear of what it is exactly.

The gameplay in itself was described as a multiplayer Knights of the Old Republic, which in the end is what we pretty much expected/wanted.

The same source predicts a big launch but a steady decline into an average in the multitudes of MMOGs offered today.

Even so, with the likes of World of Warcraft and Rift experiencing a reduction in subscribers, we’ll see if The Old Republic has a larger fan base as well as a better way to captivate the fans desires and hopes for the game.
