A New Dragon Age
BioWare fans may be feeling down after reading about the delay of the much anticipated ‘Anthem‘ until 2019. However, not all is lost as it appears that BioWare is working on a new Dragon Age instead. Executive Producer Mark Darrah is overseeing both Anthem and Dragon Age, so he has to divide his time between both. General Casey Hudson on the other hand is assuring fans that the game will remain story and character focused via Twitter.
Reading lots of feedback regarding Dragon Age, and I think you’ll be relieved to see what the team is working on. Story & character focused.
Too early to talk details, but when we talk about “live” it just means designing a game for continued storytelling after the main story.

BioWare Adding a ‘Live’ Element?
Moreover, Hudson mentioned adding a “live” element to the game, which some fans interpreted as something a distraction. Hudson however, states that it just means that it includes elements which serve the storytelling better. Obviously from a fan’s perspective, a “live” element could mean the usual loot boxes and other EA-like elements. So the cause for concern is not wholly unfounded. Hudson did not want to elaborate further, as he says it is still too early to provide any details. However, it does not look like BioWare intends to stray away from the single-player formula of the Dragon Age series yet.
The last Dragon Age title Inquisition was very well received by fans and critics alike. In fact, it earned several Game of the Year awards. It is also especially crucial since many saw Dragon Age II as too much of a departure from what made the first one great. Dragon Age Inquisition easily redeemed the series, earning praise for not just the story, but voice acting, soundtrack, combat mechanics and graphics as well. Needless to say, the expectations are even higher this time for the 4th title to deliver.
