BioWare has revealed that the multiplayer beta build for Mass Effect: Andromeda is forthcoming, and you can sign up for it now. The move was confirmed by Fabrice Condominas, one of the game’s producers, on Twitter:
The multiplayer beta, sadly, will be console only, at least for now. That decision, according to fellow producer Fernando Melo, is merely a reflection of the tighter timescale within which games must be submitted for particular platforms:
If you’re an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 owner and wish to sign up for the multiplayer beta, you will need an EA account linked to either an Origin, PSN, or Xbox Live account. Then, you will be required to sign into the new BioWare Beacon site, answer a pretty lengthy survey, and tick the box to enter the Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Tech Test. BioWare has not revealed when the beta will become available, but will notify all applicants at a later date.
“Join the APEX Forces. Multiplayer in Mass Effect: Andromeda places you into a class-based, 4-player co-op fire-team experience,” the game’s overview on Origin says. “Team up with three of your friends to take on the enemy threat and protect the interests of the Andromeda Initiative.”
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set for release in Spring 2017.
