Bitfenix Colossus Venom Edition Chassis Review

ExteriorThe exterior design of the Colossus is like nothing else on the market. It features LED lighting strips all the way round which give it a unique visage that is sure to appeal to gamers.

There are a few different versions of the colossus available which differ slightly in their appearance. The standard version of the case is available in black or white and features red and blue lighting.

The Venom edition we have for review today features red and green lighting and is black in colour. All versions are also available with a side window.

Like an increasing number of cases these days, the Colossus features a door on the front which covers the front drive bays and fan. There is plenty of room for airflow inside this, though, and it has a large vent in the bottom. Bitfenix include a 230mm intake fan in the front of the case.

The most eagle eyed of you may notice a lack of front panel connections on the Colossus. Well Bitfenix have included a generous selection underneath a large lockable panel on the top of the case. This means you can keep your external devices securely in here at LAN events without having to worry that they might get stolen.

In addition to the two USB3.0 ports, there are two USB2.0 ports, headphone and microphone jacks and an eSATA port. We also find power and reset buttons under this flap alongside lighting controls and a fan controller.

Bitfenix include an additional 230mm fan in the roof of the case which is covered by a mesh panel.

Around the back of the case there is an unpopulated 120/140mm exhaust fan vent. The keys for securing the tray in the top of the case are secured to this out of the box. There are also four external watercooling holes in the back of the case alongside eight expansion slots and PSU mountings at the bottom.
