Bitfenix Colossus Venom Edition Chassis Review

Final ThoughtsOverall we are very impressed with the Bitfenix Colossus Venom Edition Case. It is good to see a company trying to do something different in terms of case design and not copying other manufacturers in the marketplace.

Build quality is very good all round and we especially like the soft touch plastic used for some sections of the case. We do feel that Bitfenix could have implemented the lighting a little better though as it isn’t even and the side panels seem to be dimmer than the front section of the case.

The only other slight issue we found with the Colossus is the lack of a rear exhaust fan – something we would usually expect on a case of this size. It isn’t a massive issue, though, especially if you plan to use a factory sealed watercooling unit like the Corsair H60, though.

It is very easy to build a system in the Colossus as there is bags of room to work with. We are happy to see that they have made a lot of provision for tool-less installation even though we are forced to break out the screwdriver for some of the installation.

At a price of about £140 at Overclockers UK we feel that the Venom version of the Colossus is a little overpriced, though, considering you can get the standard version with blue and red lights for £110 at Scan. We think the standard version is a much better option providing you can live without the green lights.
