BitFenix Recon Fan Controller Review

So now that I have spend some time with the Recon fan controller, I have to say I am impressed by its mighty feature list, with input being possible on the devices very sleek and stylish touch screen panel, from the helpful desktop application either locally or from any other computer, or even from its mobile device app, all with their own take on the interface and settings, you’re sure to find something that suits your needs when it comes to using this fan controller. Personally I quite enjoy using a mixture of the touch panel or the profile settings on the desktop application if I need to make quick changes to the settings.

When it comes to style, BitFenix have designed a real winner here, it doesn’t take long after installing it to realise why its such a firm favourite with the modding community, it adds a spark of style to any chassis with its well designed interface and display, so a bit thumbs up to BitFenix on design.

It’s performance is superb too, being able to control the fans from zero RPM all the way up to their maximum output really gives you a lot of control over your systems cooling and noise levels, sure when everything was dialled  up to maximum the noise coming from our system was more than noticeable, but generally this amount of airflow isn’t required, unless your trying some lethal over clocks or running Battlefield 3 on ultra on a hot summers day. But the ability to shut off each fan completely is a nice feature too, because of this you really could get your pc to be silent if you need to, just be sure not to allow your system to overheat if you do!

Overall then I really enjoyed using the Recon, and given that it can be picked up for around £30.00 makes this seriously good value for money given the level of performance and the high build quality of this device, which is why I am happy to award it our Bang For Buck award, because you’ll be hard pushed to find this many features in a fan controller for such a reasonable price anywhere else.
