Black Myth: Wukong Reportedly Set to Receive Two DLCs and a Sequel

The highly popular game Black Myth: Wukong is reportedly on track to receive significant content updates, with developers at Game Science planning at least two DLC expansions before launching a potential sequel, according to Lunatic Ignus.
Seven New Chapters Planned for Black Myth: Wukong DLCs
The game originally had 13 chapters planned, but only six made it into the final release. Industry insider Lunatic Ignus revealed that the remaining seven chapters were cut due to budget constraints but will now be released as part of upcoming DLCs. “These chapters weren’t left on the cutting room floor,” Ignus stated in a post on X/Twitter.
Adding to the speculation, Lunatic Ignus also hinted that these DLCs would be available before Game Science releases a sequel, potentially titled Black Myth: Jiang Ziya. The timeline for these expansions remains unclear, but insiders suggest they could arrive before the game’s first anniversary in August 2025.
He also said that the DLC expansions may explore additional story elements involving figures from Chinese mythology, such as Buddha, the Jade Emperor, and Nezha. However, as with all leaks and rumors, this information should be taken cautiously until Game Science makes an official announcement.
The developer has not yet confirmed any details about the DLCs or a potential sequel, but the company did register trademarks for two more Black Myth titles earlier this year. This move suggests that Game Science is keen on expanding the universe they’ve built around Black Myth: Wukong.
