Blade Runner 2049 – New Official Trailer Released!

Blade Runner 2049 has just released a brand new trailer for the much-anticipated sequel.

This, by far, is one of the most anticipated sequels of all time. Given all the mildly satisfying vagueness of the original, Blade Runner 2039 is set to answer some of the questions. Stop reading now to avoid prequel spoilers. Seriously, if you haven’t watched it, go do it… now!

Blade Runner (1) spoiler alerts!

What happened with Deckard and Rachel? How did the Tyrell Corporation cope after the death of its genius founder? Did Gaff decide to pursue Deckard/Rachel? Questions that have been debated for nearly 30 years to which we’re going to get some answers really soon. Set 20 years after the original film (2019) the film is truly looking impressive. Great efforts have been made to replicate the look and feel of the original. The music is a brilliant tribute to Vangelis’ original scoring, within 10 seconds of the trailer I gave a smile of approval.

This is definitely one film which seems to be ticking ALL of the right boxes for a sequel done right. Other than some recent film of a  ‘ghost catching’ nature… *ahem*.

When is Blade Runner 2049 being released?

The trailer states a release date of the 10th of June 2017, a little over a month away. This is much earlier than the original October date. In all honestly, it has been nearly 7 years since I last saw a film at the cinema. Blade Runner 2049 is going to break my cinema apathy! I am release day watching this!

We previously saw a mild taste which you can check out here, but the real meat is at the bottom.

You can watch the trailer below and afterwards, I’m certain you’re going to be as excited as I am.

“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years. From executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve, #BladeRunner2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.”
