While I was not a massive fan of Diablo 3, I have, overall, loved the game series. Having been several years since the last DLC dropped for Diablo 3, it has left us wondering what the future of the series is.
Well, it seems that a job listing by Blizzard has confirmed what we perhaps all suspected, or at least hoped. Yes, a new Diablo game is in the works!
In fairness, this isn’t the first time that Blizzard has given us a massive hint with their job listings. It was, after all, a job listing that hinted that a Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 remaster was in the works, of which at least 2 have all but been confirmed.
If you were a game developer looking for a job, I would suggest that Blizzard wouldn’t be a bad place.
In a report via PCGamesN, the current vacancies include an Associate Producer and even a creative director. Obviously, experience with AAA games is considered “pluses” the main major they are looking for is someone who can: “steer strategic creative decisions at a franchise level.”
Does that sound like you? Then you best get your CV in quickly!
Diablo 3 was nearly right, but ultimately, to me at least, it failed to improve on the 2nd. Of course, the graphics were very nice and maintaining the isometric style was a good choice, but overall, I wasn’t won over by it. The Reaper of Souls DLC helped and was in itself, far superior to the actual game, but still, my advice would be for them to revisit Diablo 2 and take from it everything that people loved. All they have to do then is give us pretty graphics, some awesome cutscenes and perhaps a cow level.
