Blockbuster PS4 Pre-Order Refunded After Megaphone Protest

Blockbuster have recently going into administration (again), and while they have promised to refund all PlayStation 4 pre-orders in full, one man was not happy with the methods of receiving such a refund.

31 year old Adam Sibley of Dunstable was told by block busters that he could only receive a refund of his £450 pre-order if he wrote to head office, which for a company in Administration could prove a lengthy and questionable course of action. While the store would refund him the full amount, they said they would only do so in-store refunds with an equal value of Blu-rays and DVD’s, this of course wasn’t good enough for Mr Sibley.

With a megaphone in hand, Mr Sibley stood in front of his local store, accusing the retailer (through the megaphone) that they’re robbing him and he proceeded to advise potential customers not to enter. Blockbusters folded almost immediately.

“The store opened at 09:30 and a refund was put straight through,” he said in a recent interview with the BBC. “It’s a great result. I was the first customer in the store and my refund was the first transaction so I am very happy with that. “Who in their right mind is going to spend £450 on Blu-rays and CDs a month before Christmas? It’s unreasonable for them to expect me to do that when I was expecting a console.”

So a happy ending for Adam and we hope similar happy endings are found for many others who paid up in full at Blockbusters for hardware pre-orders that the company can no longer honour.

Also, well done Adam, you’re awesome.

Thank you MCVUK for providing us with this information.
