After their success with the Silent Hill 2 remake, Bloober Team, the Polish game developer, seems ready to take on more projects in the iconic horror franchise. The studio, known for its atmospheric horror games, would consider making additional Silent Hill remakes or even a completely new entry in the series.
In a recent interview with IGN, Wojciech Piejko, director and designer at Bloober Team, mentioned that they are always open to new opportunities. Piejko said, “I think we are always open. If we like the opportunity, we’ll take it.” This leaves the door open for more Silent Hill remakes or even original content if the opportunity presents itself.
Success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake
Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, which launched earlier this year, was praised for maintaining the original’s eerie atmosphere while updating the graphics for modern consoles. The game has been performing well in the market, which could push Konami, the owner of the Silent Hill franchise, to consider more collaborations with Bloober Team.
While it all depends on Konami’s future plans, Piejko hinted that Bloober would be excited to work on more Silent Hill projects if given the chance. “There are opportunities that you have to seize. Like Silent Hill 2, you can remake the legend. So yeah, I do believe that everything’s possible,” Piejko added.
For now, Bloober Team is focusing on their upcoming survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, set to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S next year.
