Blood Bowl is a fantasy football game that was created by Jervis Johnson for a company named Games Workshop, and it was initially released in 1987. The board game was designed as a parody of American Football set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, which means that it features common fantasy elements such as orcs, elves, trolls, dwarves and goblins. Over the years, a few companies worked on video game adaptations of Blood Bowl, but it wasn’t until 2010 that PC gamers received the polished Legendary Edition of the game, which featured 20 playable races. Two years later, the Chaos Edition was released, and it offered three more races for a total of 23.
Blood Bowl II was originally planned for 2014, but it is now expected to be released on September 22, 2015. Developed for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this turn-based strategy sports game is being developed by Cyanide and will be published by Focus Home Interactive. It features a new engine and eliminates the real-time mode present in the previous game in favor of an exclusively turn-based experience. Blood Bowl II will feature a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode, and will offer eight playable teams initially. The game recently received a new gameplay trailer, which you can watch yourself by clicking below.
