Bluetooth ZX Spectrum Hits Kickstarter Funding Goal With 3 Days Remaining

Last last year we brought you news that a team of developers were trying to revive the much loved Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Now it looks like the team may actually be able to fulfil their dreams and bring the product to market after the Bluetooth ZX Spectrum hit its funding goal on crowd-funding website Kickstarter yesterday.
“We’re pleased to be able to report that our Kickstarter appeal for the Bluetooth ZX Spectrum: Recreating the Sinclair ZX Spectrum first hit its £60,000 funding goal shortly before 9pm last night (UK time).” Said the team in a recent statement.
Backers who wish to receive a device in September, its estimated delivery date, have until 10pm on Friday 31st January (UK time) to pledge £50 to secure one. All you have to do is head over to the official Kickstarter page and show your support (by which we mean you money). While the product may have already hits its goal, funding is still the only way to get your hands on one and the team should be announcing a stretch goal for the appeal later today! So it is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
Recreating one of the most iconic systems in history is a great idea, and the fact that the device will be pairable to smartphones and other systems means that it really has been brought up to date with the ability to download apps, games and more for the device using more modern techniques. It may not be the most practical gadget ever, but to indulge your love for retro gadgets there really is nothing cooler.
