BMW’s Vision of the Future is Here

BMW is well known for innovative products in the automotive market, and they look set to continue to push the boundaries in the near future too. With an already pretty futuristic range of cars on the market, such as the i3 and the i8, which come with fully electric engines, while also looking like something out of a sci-fi movie, as well as their various crazy prototype vehicles, self-driving cars and so much more.

Now BMW is keen to show that “A new Era has begun” in their latest product video. Which blends existing car tech and products, soon to be released products, and a few ideas for their future, with some products that may never come to market, and some I kind of hope never do.

In the video you can see self-driving cars, that seems like an obvious future for most car manufacturers. There’s also some pretty awesome looking augmented reality headsets for bikers, which I think would be a lot of fun. Then there’s the welcome mat projector for the self-driving cars, that’s not something I’m sure I would want, but hey, no one said I had to like everything in the future!

One interesting thing I spotted if you look closely, is that the dad in the video put the car in auto-drive, turned around to chat with his kids, and none of them are wearing seat belts, and a motorbike that doesn’t require a helmet! It’ll be interesting to see how they hope to reach that point of safety on the roads if they ever do.

Check out the video below!
