Bob Ross Inspired Teaser Trailer for Deadpool 2 Released
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
Deadpool 2 has a new teaser trailer that is unlike anything ever before. Complete with Bob Ross’ signature perm, the title character pays tribute to the late great television painter. This of course serves as a nice contrast to the usual Deadpool shenanigans. Since Ross is known for his cool, chill demeanor, constantly thinking of positive things and Deadpool is the exact opposite. Even the description for the teaser is equally hilarious:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Mix of New and Old Characters
The teaser’s title “wet on wet” is a reference to an actual painting technique. It involves layering of wet paint on top of wet paint. This is also a reference to the fact that his is a sequel and is “painting over” the previous movie. It is not all jokes of course. We see glimpses of some familiar and some new characters as well. Negasonic Teenage Warhead is there. Although her hair has grown quite a bit, she is still rocking her signature yellow X-men costume. Even Dopinder the cab driver, Weasel and Blind Al, Deadpool’s Landlord make an appearance.
New Mutants Cable and Domino are set to debut, and the teaser also quickly shows a couple more unnamed, possibly mutant characters. It is rumoured that X-men villain Mr. Sinister is the main antagonist in this film, which possibly explains why this teaser trailer is as crazy as it is, since he can manipulate minds.
Deadpool 2 is not hitting theaters until June 1, 2018. So expect a more, fully fleshed out trailer within the next few months.
