Borderlands 2 Xbox 360 and PC Review

Warning, this section contains spoilers for both the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2, so here is the spoiler free quick edition.

You’re a group of 4 mercenaries on the hunt for some riches while trying to overthrow an evil guy called Handsome Jack before he gets the loot. In your way are thousands of enemies and it’s upto you to gun your way from start to finish.

Spoilers Below

Borderlands 2 is set 5 years after the events of the original Borderlands, which saw you and your friends taking control of up to 4 characters known as vault hunters, Roland, Lilith, Mordecai and Brick. Who are a group of mercenaries on the hunt for a legendary hidden vault on the planet Pandora said to be full of hidden treasure. Of course it had a giant monster inside and it turned out to all be a big hoax.

Since the defeat of this monster, a precious element called Eridium has started to grown in the planet (think of it like a magical diamond). With this Eridium, the evil Handsome Jack of the Hyperion Corporation takes control of the planet, lording it up from his giant space station and doing all that he can to keep power over the planet, that includes trying to kill you and your team. With the characters from Borderlands 1 making many cameo appearances in Borderlands 2, you now take control of Maya, Axton, Zer0 and Salvador and with the rumors abound of a new vault on Pandora as well as all this new Eridium, your vault hunting quests begin again and its down to you to prevent Jack from collecting enough Eridium to open this new vault.

The world of Pandora is even richer this time around, filled with colourful characters to meet along the way and a lot more voice acting than in the original Borderlands. This really helps keep the story flowing and really brings the characters and the world of Pandora to life. Where the original title has bit of a loose story to give you a minor reason to shoot things, Borderlands 2 gives you hundreds of reasons.
