Borderlands 3 is available now on Xbox One, Xbox One X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Pro, as well as PC. On console, it’s currently priced at £49.99 for the standard version on all formats in the UK. In the US, it’s currently listed at $59.99. The Deluxe Edition is more expensive but comes with a bunch of in-game content which you can check out below (UK/US).
Above that, it’s the Super Deluxe Edition, which is detailed below, and is typically around £99.99 and also includes the season pass.
As I was saying, I was really hoping to deep dive into explaining what this game has to offer. However, for anyone who’s played Borderlands in the past, you can expect the Borderlands of today to be pretty much the same. For fans like me, this is exactly what I wanted. There’s just enough fresh ideas thrown in, as well as some quality of life improvements, to make it feel more modern.
The new characters are a lot of fun too. Of course, without spoiling too much, there are plenty of familiar faces too. The campaign is pretty much on par with the previous entries too. There’s a truckload of side quests, which are much more involving than most games, and completing them all is just as much fun as the main story. This is where I mumble along, as there’s so many spoilers I promised I wouldn’t share… sorry, ha!
The game is robust, and there’s loads of replayability to it too. The new game plus system is fantastic, and the enemies and guns just keep getting more outrageous the longer you play. What’s not to love about that! However, if previous entries were anything to go by, the DLC will be just as big or bigger than the main story. We haven’t gotten a season pass at the moment, but if a few patches tighten up the splitscreen issues, it’ll be a done deal; sign us up!
Should I Buy It?
Right now, I think if you’re a PC gamer, it’s a solid game and worth every penny. It’s on Epic Game Store but will be on Steam after a six-month exclusive period. The console version, all of them, appear to work fantastic for single player. However, the last of a vertical splitscreen option is keeping me from giving the game our Editors Choice Award. However, the actual game is the best Borderlands has ever been, and well worth checking out!
