Boston Venom 2500-0P Gaming PC Review

Introduction

Boston’s reputation is synonymous with producing some of the most reliable enterprise-grade PCs over the last 20 years and offers clients a huge array of component choices. The company’s ethos revolves around clean, quiet and professional PC solutions to fulfill the demanding technical requirements of high-end gamers who dabble in complex video-editing. The Venom series is designed to tackle advanced rendering, complex graphical computations and other multi-threaded workloads. Previously, we reviewed the Boston Venom 3401-7T and became mesmerized by the class-leading performance in every benchmark. Now, it’s time to assess the Venom 2500-0P which features an astonishing specification whilst opting for a surprisingly portable, mid-chassis form-factor.

The 2500-0P features an Intel i7 5960X Extreme-grade processor which is pre-overclocked to 4.1GHz via a 120mm CoolIt liquid cooling solution. This incredibly powerful CPU is accompanied by 32GB DDR4 2800MHz RAM and an extremely stable, Supermicro X99 motherboard. To leverage the 5960X’s compute power, Boston decided to utilize NVIDIA’s flagship, Titan X graphics card which contains 12GB GDDR5 memory. In terms of storage, the boot drive is an Intel 750 PCI-e SSD capable of breathtaking read and write speeds. Additionally, there is a basic RAID array with 3TB of mechanical data at your disposal. The system is powered by an EVGA 1000W 80+ power supply and has enough headroom to allow for multi-GPU setups. Overall, the 2500-0P is a technical masterpiece and able to cope with every imaginable task.
