A number of Nintendo’s Amiibo figures have been selling for ridiculous prices on eBay. The figures in question are exceptionally rare thanks to manufacturing defects.
One such figure, in this case of Samus from the Metroid series, sold last week for a staggering $2,500. Why? Because he had two guns on his hands instead of one. Today, a figure of Princess Peach has received bids up to $510, all because she has no legs. Another one, a Villager from Animal Crossing with twisted arms, is currently at a more respectable $51.
The Amiibo figurines are NFC enabled and are used in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Each figure represents a Nintendo character and have already been a hit with collectors.
Nintendo collecting is growing and growing, with rare and unreleased games and other memorabilia selling for staggering amounts in online auctions.
