The CM Storm by Coolermaster Ceres 300 may be the cheapest of the bunch here today, but it also features an in-line controller, with a simple volume dial on the top side and a large slide switch for the microphone mute.
The Ceres 300 is the only headset of the three to offer a fully detachable microphone, which is always a welcome feature for those who don’t plan on using chat functions too often.
Overall finish is fairly basic, but still nice and presentable, a mixture of clean matte whites and glossy black plastics.
Both of the headband extenders are plastic, but feel durable enough and lock firmly into place when adjusted.
The headset is fully hard wired, but I am concerned that the cable is quite thin, it could be prone to breaking if not looked after carefully.
The boom microphone only has a short reach, but its flexible design means you should be able to get it to an ideal speaking position.
The headband has been treated with a very thick, very soft foam padding and a matte finish leather like material on both the top and bottom.
It’s very comfortable and keepd with the neat and tidy look of the rest of the headset.
