Bungie Publishes Destiny 2 Development Roadmap

Bungie addresses recent player feedback with a roadmap.
Destiny 2 has not been receiving a lot of positive feedback lately. For starters, the game’s microtransaction system was described as “predatory” by both gamers and critics. Moreover, the lack of transparency concerning level rewards and XP was a hot topic for a while. Then came the “Curse of Osiris” DLC, which presented its own set of problems. Apparently, this DLC locked some players out of some old content unless they purchased the pack. Bungie responded to this negative feedback by making it easier to obtain end-game items in Destiny 2. By reducing the grind, they hoped that the player base will be content once more.
Bungie is trying to improve its transparency.
One of the company’s most recent efforts involves publishing a development roadmap for Destiny 2. The roadmap reveals upcoming content as part of three future game updates. These updates are patch 1.1.3, 1.1.4 and 1.2.0, which will arrive on February 27, March 27 and May, respectively. Some of the most noteworthy changes include “exotic repetition reduction” and the ability to create private PvP matches. Opt-in public text chat for PC players also sounds pretty good, as does the new 6v6 option for the game’s Iron Banner PvP mode. Bungie also has some stretch goals in mind for the future, but some of these might never see the light of day if they’re too difficult to embed.
While the roadmap looks pretty good, Destiny 2 Game Director Christopher Barrett, recently said that some things might change:
“Some of these delivery dates may change, but everything you see listed here is being worked on by the team. While there are larger projects in development, these are the game enhancements you’ll find in your immediate future. If any of these deployments change, we’ll let you know.”
Are you currently enjoying Destiny 2, and if so, what is your opinion on this new roadmap?
