Bungie has won a lawsuit against Destiny 2 cheat seller VeteranCheats.
Bungie has been at war with those that create and sell cheats for Destiny 2 with them winning several million-dollar lawsuits back in February, and now according to thegamepost.com, the developer has just won another lawsuit for an enormous $12 Million against VeteranCheats. The court documents against VeteranCheats developer Claudio-Florentin claim that they “developed and sold cheat software for Destiny 2 that enabled players to cheat in various ways, including aiming more accurately, and seeing through walls.” Bungie argues that Florentin had caused significant harm to the game undermining the experience of others and has asked for $12,059,912,98 in damages which includes $2000 for each of the 5848 downloads.
This is not only a success for Bungie but it is also a success for other game developers as well as us legitimate players as it shows that developers can fight back. Cheating in online games ruins the experience for all the legitimate players especially when it’s used to give you an advantage in a competitive game, though those that use their cheats to pick up an entire GTA V lobby in a flying bus get a pass.
