Bungie Wins $6.7 Million Lawsuit Against Cheat Seller.

We all hate cheaters in games, well most of us do, and there is some good news for us from Bungie. Bungie has recently won Lawsuits against cheat sellers LaviCheats and Aimjunkies totalling $11 million in total from the two cases.

AimJunkies Case

Cheat Seller AimJunkies was one of the two sellers that have been dealt a lawsuit. Judge Ronald Cox had concluded that the cheaters had violated the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provision and related trafficking restrictions and imposed $4.3 million in fees ($3.6 Million in damages and $738k in fees) on the cheaters.

LaviCheats Case

In another lawsuit this time against LaviCheats who was hit with a $6.7 million lawsuit with Bungie wanting “$2000 for each of the 2790 cheat software that was downloaded from the seller’s websites”. Judging from the statements in the court filing images below, the cheat author Bansal made their situation worse with their attitude, reportedly saying “Bungie lawyers you can suck my nuts!”.

VeteranCheats Case

Back in August 2021, Bungie filed a lawsuit against VeteranCheats.com and shortly after identified one of the individuals behind the cheat software, Mihai Claudiu-Florentin. Now in February 2023, Bungie has submitted a request to be awarded $12 Million in damages. $12 Million is an insane amount of money and I wonder how on earth they’ll manage to pay that off.

These cheat creators and cheaters ruin games for other people and it’s great to see them get what they deserve. It will be nice if we see more of this in the future from other companies just so long as they don’t repeat Rockstar and Take Two’s mistake with OpenIV.
