Buy Your Disney Infinity Models While You Still Can!

A recent surge in game sales can be attributed to collectible figures, more specifically those with you use to interact with a game such as the Lego Dimensions or Skylanders. The principle is a simple one, buy a model and place it on the games base to play as that character within the game. The idea of giving digital game users collectible models seemed to be doing well, with several games taking the opportunity to introduce the models for a variety of effects, now it would seem that Disney, one of the original groups behind the idea, is going to stop producing anything relating to Disney Infinity, games or models alike.
Announced by Disney Infinity Senior VP and General Manager John Blackburn in a surprise announcement:
“we have made the difficult decision to discontinue production of Disney Infinity, From the beginning, Disney Infinity was built for you—our fans—and I wanted to take a moment to thank you not just for your support over the years, but for creating a community that made Disney Infinity more than just a game.”
With more and more toys using NFC connections to help communicate, giving users a physical model meant they had ownership of something rather than just giving them a digital character for their money. While still popular among its fans, if you want to pick up any models for your collection and game, now would be a good time before they become collectibles.
