Call of Duty Player Wows With Rendition of Coldplay’s Fix You

In theory, online gaming is a marvellous invention but can be marred by people eating, shouting abuse or constantly talking. While I’ve heard some extraordinary tales over the years, few come close to matching an unknown COD player reciting Coldplay’s “Fix You” in the heat of battle. Obviously, the user was unaware he was broadcasting to the entire lobby and began to sing without any hesitation.
While the COD player isn’t a vocal genius, the rendition is surprisingly decent and fits the gameplay rather well. The song’s depressing, minor tone emphasizes the horrors of war and macabre setting which Call of Duty is known for. However, I’m guessing other users in the lobby during this moment were less than impressed and pressed the mute button. The lesson here is to always setup your microphone as push-to-talk.
Granted, the video is quite old, but has only just come under my radar. I’d be interested to hear your first-hand experiences of people’s behaviour in online games. One example which I will always remember occurred during an online race in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. Two members in the lobby decided to publicly review every racing game in the past 5 years and weigh up the pros and cons. It was an interesting tale, and something I never expected.
