Activision Blizzard have announced that their “Elite” package for the Call Of Duty series will cost $49.99 a year or around $4 a month. The Elite package essentially offers access to all new DLC for the year and access to special unique features that only Elite members will get. The service launch will coincide with the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 since Activision Blizzard thinks it will be able to shift more memberships that way. The cost of a year’s DLC is around $60 so gamers that would otherwise buy it all can save themself $10 by getting this membership.
Other features of the elite package include a special mobile phone app, unique tournaments with virtual and real world prizes for elite members only and Facebook integration to the game.Activision has also confirmed that Elite will deliver two television style series this fall, one created by Will Arnett and Jason Bateman of Arrested Development fame, called N00b Tube, and another name developed by Tony and Ridley Scott under the name Friday Night Fights.
