Call Of Duty: Ghosts – Fastest Selling Game Of All Time
Over the past 24 hours Call of Duty: Ghosts has given a swift kick to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, taking away the reigns of Fastest Selling Video Game of all time. Ghosts topped $1 Billion in sales, surpassing GTAV’s $800,000 in sales over release days 24 hour period. Personally I think that this fall back was because GTA V only released on Playstation and Xbox, while CoD: Ghosts was released on nearly every platform available.
- PC
- Xbox 360
- Xbox One (Available November 19)
- Playstation 3
- Playstation4
- Wii U
There were over 15,000 midnight launch parties world wide, allowing gamers to pick up the newest released Next Gen game. With the support of over 20 million fans, Ghosts was able to break 3 records in less than a 24 hour period of time. This game will likely break more records over time.

I don’t get which idiots still fall for the bulshit Infinity Award puts on the plate of the gamers, it’s fucking ridiculous.
Maybe they have a differing opinion from yours, that doesn’t make them idiots.
Well firstly your talking about the wrong company, Seeing as “Infinity Award” doesn’t exsist
Firstly, people have different preferences. And those people you call “idiots” prefer games from Infinity Ward and it isn’t any BS for them. Secondly, learn to respect other people’s preferences. I know we have the right to freedom of speech, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to disrespect other people.
Y’know what? Be an idiot and fall for the bullshit your favorite game company offers you. See how it feels when someone calls you such.
don’t seem to mention a story line. and season pass hints at an ongoing charge to play and at the prices charged for the game I am not paying out extra’s
Really? The season pass may be the equivalent of a subscription fee? Good grief that is ludicrous if true.
I begrudge to the extent that I will not pay to join a shoot em up with 14 year old gamers, I am not going to pay upwards of 50quid to then have to pay to go online I want content that is going to last more than an hour or two, has a storyline and lots of re-playable content which the CoD and Battle 4 splinter cell seem to have cut the story to the absolute minimum, cutting in video films to curtail the story line..can we not get games that are worth the money we pay
add assassins creed Iv to above list
i call BS on this because gta v was most anticipated so more people wanted and bought it and dont forget that the cod creators were moaning that they wanted their titles back because rockstar destroyed them
Just because a game is most anticipated doesn’t mean it will sell more, Learn to market pls
Actually yes, it does. Anticipation leads to sales so long as the price isn’t ridiculous and the product actually delivers – which GTA V did.
Get a degree in marketing or some shit before saying “learn to market pls” like a peasant.
You should have said “Actually yes, it could.” not “Actually yes, it does.” because you stated certain conditions about how a game wouldn’t sell even if it is most anticipated.
just a little correction. or maybe i was wrong. idk. anyway it’s not meant to offend you (considering you laid out a good statement) in any way 🙂
Aye but pissing on others with “learn to market pls” in the first place is dickish, so I dicked back out of my own volition.
Maybe if they didn’t cut out the massive PC gaming market they would have done better. Seriously, releasing on two more platforms = more money, it’s basic math.
Read the news from activision again and write this article again… It’s still just 1billion $ in sales to retail STORES. How many it actually buyed was not stated.
This is horse shit. Ghosts barely made a dent on Steam – how is anybody paying attention to this stuff supposed to take this seriously?
