Cards Against Humanity, the self-proclaimed “party game for horrible people”, will be free on smartphones (both Android and iOS), tablets, and Windows PCs after the launch of its web version, Cards Against Originality, this weekend.
Cards Against Humanity is a simple but fun card game in which one player draws a black card, containing a statement, question, or ‘fill in the blanks’, while the other players blindly pick one of the white cards in their hand. The black card holder must then pick their favourite response to their card from the text written on the white cards. The online version generates a URL for each game, allowing the user who started the match to invite others to join.
Cards Against Originality is free under a Creative Commons licence, and features all the cards featured in the physical form of the game. Under the same licence, third-party developers can release free app versions of Cards Against Humanity, much like the in-development Xyzzy.
Though the app should be available now – it is currently down due to technical issues – it is only free from this weekend onwards.
