C&C: Red Alert 2 Gets Unreal Engine 4 Power VR Concept

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is one of my all-time favourite games, and I’m sure I’m not alone on that one either. Now one developer has decided to take the classic game to the next level, porting the game to Unreal Engine 4 and then enabling it in VR with the HTC Vive.
Developer Ádám Horváth created the demo of sorts along with Sly_Fox’s assets, one of his latest projects that relates to Vr and augmented reality. The game still plays pretty much as you would expect, but you can shift your perspective around the battlefield, and use the Touch controllers to direct and place your units with ease, something that could really increase your response times to enemy actions.
“Proof of concept VR RTS game created in Unreal Engine 4, based on the original C&C: Red Alert 2. Gameplay video using HTC Vive in room scale mode.” reads the video description
Given that the original game is now 16 years old, it’s great to see someone trying to paint it in a more modern setting, and it would be amazing if this saw a commercial release in the future.
