Charles Martinet Steps Back From Voicing Mario After Nearly 3 Decades

The long-time voice actor for Mario has stepped down from his role voicing the popular video game character.
Charles Martinet No Longer Voicing Mario
Nintendo announced today on their Nintendo of America Twitter page that Charles Martinet will be moving on from voicing Mario to instead taking the role of Mario Ambassador. Charles has been voicing Mario for over 3 decades with his voice first featuring in a game with 1996’s Super Mario 64. The iconic voice has been known to generations with countless Mario games and spin-offs throughout the years voicing not only Mario but Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Baby Luigi and Baby Mario. which Martinet has contributed to. With his new role, he will no longer be voicing the character but will continue travelling the world to share the joy of Mario and interacting with fans.
In a separate Tweet Martinet stated: “My new Adventure begins! You are all Numba One in my heart!”
