Check Out This Incredible Unreleased Elder Scrolls PSP Game

The Elder Scrolls franchise has thrilled role-playing aficionados for well over a decade and has a huge modding community on the PC platform. Over the years, the series has seen number releases on home consoles, but for some reason, the games never translated into handheld versions. Saying that, there was an Elder Scrolls PSP game in development which sadly never received an official release. Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion is based on the main Oblivion title but adopts a more linear approach due to the PSP’s technical restrictions. More specifically, the game featured a hub world which contained various vendors, NPCs and interesting characters. Instead of exploring a vast open world, you rely on a teleportation crystal to visit each explorable section of the game. As you might expect, each area had multiple paths and seemed very optimistic for a handheld title. Apparently, the developers planned more than 180 enticing quests which might have required two UMDs.
This is only a brief insight into the game’s development and I highly recommend reading the original story from Unseen64. There you will find loads of unseen photographs and additional backstory. After some time, video footage has been unveiled showcasing the game’s brilliant gameplay! It’s such a shame that it was eventually cancelled but there’s so much potential there. Unfortunately, Zenimax has taken down most of the videos already but we’ve included the original piece below just in case this changes in the near future.

It’s always interesting to hear the history behind cancelled games, and I’m surprised by the number which actually looked like being masterpieces.
