The good people over at Ninja Theory have decided to reveal yet another developer diary for their upcoming Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice game. Just in case you’re not too familiar with these developers, you should know that they are responsible for the successful reboot of the Devil May Cry series, namely DmC – Devil May Cry. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was described as an “independent AAA” game by its creators, and there’s no reason to doubt the title’s quality so far. Actually, the latest developer diary video gives us a better idea of what to expect from the game, particularly as far as combat mechanics are concerned.
The great part about this video is that it actually shows the protagonist in action. Up until now, we’ve only seen Senua in a trailer that was not rendered using the game’s actual engine, and even though the graphics are not at all disappointing in this game, the combat itself does look a bit slow paced, at least when compared to DmC -Devil May Cry or other action games such as Batman. The AI probably needs a bit of work too, as it doesn’t look particularly aggressive, but the developers still have some time to work out these issues. As for the animations and combat moves, they look fluid and original, and that’s because they were implemented into the game using motion capture technologies. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be launched on PlayStation 4 consoles and on the PC this year. You can have a look at the new developer diary below.
