Do you need a lot of storage? Do you need to achieve superior IOPS performance? Then you should look at Chenbro’s newest system which is called the RM23624 and is a 24-bay 2U rack server. The RM23624 features 24 hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive bays for HDDs or SSDs and a 12Gb/s SAS expander with LSI DataBolt that provides the higher performance and reliability that data centers demand.
Cooling challenges encountered by placing this many hard drives in a 2U chassis are countered through a strong thermal design by experts from Chenbro and their years of experience in the field. The chassis is perfect for enterprise storage, online transaction processing, database servers, and other I/O constrained applications.
Besides the 24 drive bays in the front, the case also features an additional HDD cage that supports two internal 2.5-inch drive bays for your operating system and system software deployment. The server chassis doesn’t just feature a lot of hot-swappable drive bays, the four anti-vibration fans are also easy swappable and so are the redundant power supplies.
You can optionally mount three full height or seven low-profile expansion cards through the PCIe expansion slots on the rear, which gives you even more flexibility for your build.
As mentioned earlier, the chassis is designed with optimal airflow and heat ventilation in mind and to be able to provide a reliable thermal structure with its four patented anti-vibration fans with smart speed control configuration. You can mount two more optional 40mm rear fans to achieve the maximum thermal performance in this setup.
Power supply options include a choice of a single power supply or 1+1 redundant power supply for that extra backup and safety.
Chenbro didn’t reveal any pricing or availability time yet, but both are sure to follow soon. Until then you can also check out all the juicy details on the official product page.
