How Much Does it Cost?

Well, the price on this is pretty variable depending on the specification you go for. It’s available in black/gold or in white/grey and the white model does appear to cost about £20 more overall. What’s more, is the price is all over the place depending on which layout you want. There’s QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY and they all vary in price slightly. Of course, be sure to order the right layout, as they do look similar! Right now, it’s between £82 – £117 depending on the model, colour, and layout. In the US, it’s $93 – $148.

Overview

The Cherry name carries a lot of history with it. They’ve proven for decades that they really know what they’re doing when it comes to keyboards and switches. I think that history has a large part to play in the premium price too, and as much as I love this keyboard and mouse combo, I can’t help think it’s a little expensive.

I mean, it’s well made, the design is great, and it works really well. So it’s not like you’re not getting what you pay for. Also, let’s remember that the mouse is included in that price, so it’s not quite as drastic. However, when the cheaper alternatives are less than half that price, it’s tricky to draw a fair comparison.

Performance

The keyboard is one of the best slim models I’ve used in years. The last one I really loved was from Enermax, and that was many years ago indeed. I haven’t gamed properly on keyboard and mouse for years, so I typically find I’m quite comfortable with this sort of keyboard for my home PC. If you’re a heavy gamer that plays with a keyboard, this likely isn’t for you. However, if you spend most of your day bashing out emails and reports, you’re going to love that quiet and light action. It’s very easy-going on the finger muscles, which is a huge benefit at the end of the workday.

Mouse

The mouse was a pleasant surprise too. It’s got a unique design that (mostly) matches that of the keyboard. The inclusion of quality switches and an Omron sensor made it pretty adept to use. It’s not quite feature-packed enough for my workflow, but I really can’t complain about the quality of it overall.

Should I Buy One?

Ultra-slim keyboards aren’t for everyone, and the same is true about wireless peripherals in general. However, Cherry has done a great job of designing a stylish and practical keyboard and mouse combo here. It’s a little expensive, but you’re paying for a quality product and that’s exactly what you get. Perfect for travel, the office, or even at home.
