Cherry Corp. makers of the famous Cherry MX switch do not just make keyboards, they make mice too. Their latest mouse is a new “silent” version of their previously introduced Gentix mouse. As the name suggests, this Gentix Silent mouse operates stealthily without clicking. Which is due to a special Cherry click-less switch, making it suitable for libraries or offices.
Other than dropping the noise, the new Gentix Silent also removes the LED lighting from the original. Both the Gentix and Gentix Silent have the same slim body design however, measuring only 112 x 68 x 35mm. The left and right clicks use a single piece cover extending from front to back, while there is a middle partition housing the scroll-wheel. Both sides have texture pads for grip and there are no side-buttons. Although the scroll-wheel can act as a third button. The ambidextrous design also makes it suitable for use for both left and right hand users.
Each Gentix Silent mouse uses a 1000 DPI optical sensor and connects via a 1.8-metre long USB cable. It is completely plug-and-play, requiring no drivers or software to use in any OS.
The Cherry Gentix Silent mouse is now available for only £13.
