Chieftec BX-10B-OP Micro-ATX Case Review

There’s no shortage of mid-tower cases these days, with the vast majority of PC hardware being ATX and mid-tower, and frankly, it gets a little bit repetitive. I have long been a fan of Micro-ATX, as it can result in a more compact gaming PC similar to a mini-ITX build, but that still has much of the features of the larger motherboards. However, so few mATX motherboards are released these days, and the same is true of the mATX PC cases, so few new ones are released, that I’m tempted to slap an award on the Chieftec BX-10B-OP case right away, just for existing.

Chieftec BX-10B-OP

While the name “BX-10B-OP” doesn’t exactly inspire me, the BX-10B-OP is well enough equipped, with support for 120mm and 140mm fans, 240mm radiators, large 165mm tall CPU coolers, and surprisingly, up to 380mm graphics card (limited to 300mm if you exceed the recommended 180mm PSU length). The case also comes with that Chieftec charm, which I like to describe as modern retro, they’re a bit old school, and I like that, given that I’m basically a bit retro myself at my age.

Features

  • Compact, modern m-ATX tower
  • Optimal cooling compatibility
  • Support 240mm radiator
  • 1x 120mm PWM fan pre-installed

What Chieftec Had to Say

“The CHIEFTEC BX-10B-OP is a modern, compact mini tower that combines elegant and subtle design with high functionality and easy-installation for a capable system. Featuring standard ATX PSU compatibility, m-ATX boards and graphics cards up to a maximum length of 380mm, as well as a total of 6 possible installed fans, modern configurations should have no trouble being installed into the BX-10B-OP from a space or cooling perspective.” – Chieftec
