Chieftec has today announced the release of three new models to its successful 80-PLUS Gold Polaris series of power supplies. Building on the same technical features of the existing Polaris models, the models come with LLC half-bridge converters with DC-DC technology. At the same time, fully modular cable management ensures a clean and organized build process. In addition, 650mm long CPU and Mainboard cables ensure these power supplies also work well with larger systems.
One key difference between these higher wattage models, in addition to the power and the cables, is the inclusion of a new 140mm FDB silent fan. This should allow for quieter operation while keeping these powerful PSU’s nice and cool.
“The Polaris Series brings CHIEFTEC’s trusted and proven experience with high quality, 80 PLUS® Gold technology. Polaris Series PSU’s feature state-of-the-art technical design including LLC half-bridge converter with DC-to-DC technology, as well as high power-density to allow ensure that these power supplies can be used even in large builds.”
Chieftec has confirmed that its Polaris series will initially launch in May, starting with the 850 and 1050 watt models. The 1250 watt version is planned for release in Q3 this year. We should note that, at the time of writing, Chieftec has not confirmed how much we can expect these to cost when they do hit retailers. – If you do, however, want to learn more about this new Polaris range of power supplies, you can check out the official product website via the link here!
