Chieftec Reveals Updated BX-Mesh Mini Tower

Chieftec has today revealed a new updated version of its UNI Series BX case with a new Mesh side panel variant as opposed to the original tempered glass variant which we reviewed recently.

Chieftec BX-Mesh Mini Tower

The BX-Mesh is a compact Mini Tower case for those looking for a smaller case with an elegant and subtle design that fits into the office space or into an understated gaming setup. It has a grill-style front panel with a small I/O of a USB 3.2 Type-A, a single USB-C and an audio combo jack. The top panel uses the same grill-style design but this covers the entire top panel rather than just down the centre. With this new iteration, the tempered glass side panel has been replaced with a mesh panel providing more ventilation for the internals whilst also providing a unique look. I quite like the design of this case as simple as it is, but unfortunately it is a bit too small for my needs, ATX version please Chieftec?

Cooling Support

The case comes with a single 120mm PWM fan pre-installed with a total capacity of up to 7 120mm fans. To be more specific users can fit three 120mm or two 140mm fans in the top though only with an ITX motherboard. two 120mm or 140mm in the front and a single 120mm in the rear which comes pre-installed. Finally, for water cooling, there is support for a 240mm radiator in the front.

Hardware Compatibility

For hardware despite the small size you are still able to fit some reasonably large components bar the motherboard which is only up to mATX. Alongside a 240mm radiator, users can fit a reasonably sized tower cooler up to 165mm as well as most modern GPUs with up to 380mm of clearance although that depends on the size of the PSU as 180mm+ PSUs will restrict the GPU down to 300mm. For storage options, there is a single 3.5″ bay as well as three 2.5″ bays which is plenty for an mATX system.

Price and Availability

The BX-Mesh comes with a 24-month warranty and will be available in mid-September. Visit the product page for more information.
