Chieftronic M2 Micro ATX Gaming Case Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, I couldn’t find retail stock of this case. Of course, with pandemic issues, global shipping issues, and the fallout of Black Friday (which is really more like Black November), that’s no big surprise. I’ll update this section ASAP.

Overview

There’s no shortage of PC cases these days, with a host of big-name brands that have had decades to hone their skills. While Chieftec never really became a big household name for PC gamers, they have been on the market for a very long time. Now they’ve gone back to the drawing board to reinvent their range for the modern PC gamer, and I have to admit, they’ve done a damn fine job of it.

Their cases from just a few years ago were a bit old fashioned, some may even call them retro, so this new refresh puts them back in the modern world. It doesn’t really do anything to innovate, but then again, it doesn’t really have to. It’s ticking all the right boxes though, it’s cool, it has tempered glass, and it has lovely ARGB lighting, and those three things alone give it very broad appeal.

The build quality is really good on this case, far better than expected if I’m honest, and it’ll stand tall next to big-name brands too. The steel feels durable, and nothing rattles or squeaks, all the panels fit super snug, and there are no obvious panel gaps where there shouldn’t be. Plus, all the intakes have filtration and are easy to clean, which is welcome. I love the side panels too, giving the illusion of a full side of glass, but black painted steel on the interior hides all the boring case components.

If you’re looking for a stylish cube-style PC case that’s got a slick modern look, and plenty of room for some serious hardware, the Chieftronic M2 Cube is a real contender. Chieftec has really upped their game with this one, and I can’t wait to see what else they do next!
